BIG BLUE HOSE We received the following email message from Bill and Laurene Ness Braden which we felt should be shared with you.

Ken & Judy Stahl, John & Judy Mccain:
Laurene & I purchased our RoadTrek
(a 1998 190 Popular with 40K miles) less than a year
ago. Fortunately for us, we chose this winter to head south from
our Spokane WA home to Phoenix AZ where MOST of our family live
... oh, my! What a winter on our side of the mountains!
Anyway, in Quartzite AZ (my LEAST
favorite place to spend a night) we lost the internal dump hose.
A visit to a local service vendor elicited many groans,
rolling of the eyes and an estimate of some $400 for the repair.
"Hmmm, ... don't think so, Charlie!"
So I Googled ... and Googled ... and
Googled ... and came up with "Changing the Big Blue Hose" by
Harvey Tetmeyer - may he rest in the Peace he so deserves. The
man who would write that article, include those pictures -
apparently for the sole purpose of making life easier for other
folks - ... Wow! I so regret that I could not thank the man
personally. I printed his article out, performed the operation
in two hours, and spent $38 and change.
PLEASE post some kind of
commendation from Laurene and Bill NESS BRADEN in your
publication(s). Perhaps his family will appreciate it, and
perhaps it will inspire someone else to perform a similar serve
- I KNOW it inspired me to do so.
Yes, I believe we will be joining
FMCA and RdTrk Internat. At the moment, we are still in
Phoenix (and watching our pennies carefully). But we'll be in
touch!
